THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX!!!

If you hang around God He will cause you to think outside the box. If you are going to be a leader you need to go somewhere no one has gone, do something that no one has done. To think outside the box you need to do something that attracts criticism. I need to let you know that God is ready to break some rules to make you outstanding, if you partner with Him.

Creativity begins in your thought life. If you are bound in your thinking you will fail to be creative. When you don’t do things the way others have done them you are controversial. Until you are seen as controversial, you have not yet begun to make your mark in history. If you are going to be a leader you need to go somewhere no one has gone and do something that no one has done and to understand that criticism is not necessarily a crisis but it can often be a gate way that can open up a new dimension of thinking if you will dare to be different. 

I encourage that if you hang around God he will cause you to think outside the box. God’s thinking is what causes his word to have power; his word has power based on his thoughts. If you will ever get around God he will affect how you think, how you function and how you feel.

Everything that we call tangible things began in the thought life of somebody’s mind, the invention of the car begun as a thought in somebody’s mind. I sincerely agree that thinking is the first step to revolution in our lives. If you are still thinking like you are thinking, how would your world turn out?

If anyone will think outside the box you must first get out of the box. If you can think like God then you can see like God and when you see like God you become like God. You cannot think like you’ve been thinking and expect uncommon result. Ask yourself; if I keep thinking like I do what difference would I make in my world.

I dare you to start thinking like you are out of this world, see beyond your world, and see what has not being as though they were. Working outside the box takes faith; you need yourself in a new world. Things won’t change until you change your thinking, move from where you are to where you ought to be.

THE MYSTERY OF NATIONAL TRANSFORMATION

 

A reasonable man adapts himself to the world, the unreasonable man tries to adapt the world to himself, but the most reasonable man creates his own world. In my opinion, the rotation of the sphere within which we live is constant; but the content, context, and conduct have drastically changed. The renowned management thinker and strategy innovator, Prof. Gary Hamel, argued and affirmed a fact with which I totally concur- “Change itself has changed!”

Conventional wisdom says that the right government will provide the efficiencies, information, good education, innovation and agility that will sustain and succeed the nation; but before our very eyes, this notion has acutely failed. Developed countries are trying to cut-cost as much as possible, while inflation is relentlessly skyrocketing; terrorism, natural disasters, religious and communal clashes triggered by patriotism has also become common experience.

However, in contrast to the accusing fingers pointing at leaders (positional occupants) as being responsible for most of the predicaments that has befallen nations and industries, I’ll rather argue that insufficient leadership ability is the major problem grappling with our world. Either evolution or revolution, none ever starts with a group, it oft starts with an individual. Leaders emerge, but leadership is emergent. The path to national transformation, as we can see in the 21^st century, is personal amelioration.

The socio-economic advancement of nations has denounced the conventional political route, and has become more effective on individuals, but synergized leadership abilities. Both corporate and community development have transcended the capacity and capability of politicians and lawmakers decision, and have become the shared leadership responsibility of every inhabitant of each community or industry.

Prioritizing and Focusing on personal development rather than the wide, complex, and enigmatic national transformation for the emergence of new product, ideas, innovation, technology, industry and national advancement has become more expedient and exigent. The economic boom that countries like America and Europe is thriving on, amidst every other thing, can be easily tied to the success of companies and individuals like Bill Gate (Microsoft), Steve jobs (Apple), Jack Welch (General Electric), Richard Branson (Virgin Airlines), like Intel Corporation, IKEA Furniture, Sears, Coca Cola, IBM and so on.

Our nation is crying out for leaders that model integrity, excellence, compassion and responsibility. This is our right as a people, however, this does not assuredly present us with the trouble-free, economic boom, and secure homeland we solely desire. Government can make policies, produce social infrastructures, and so on, but it is the people that eventually make change happen. The old truth and the new-age reality is that commitment to personal development is a pre-requisite to national development.

It is so pathetic that many of us have lost personal identity in our quest for the retrieval of national identity. My question is, can doing ever take the place of being? We have become driven individuals rather than called individuals. Doing is simply the reflection of our inner core. Who I am should dictate what I do, not the other way round. In other words, we are human beings not human doings. My concern now is not whether Nigeria is 52; my concern is what if a nation like Nigeria cannot change you, would you change the nation? Tell me, what is your contribution to the growth of our nation? As a nation, we are producing more wealth-distributors or consumers, than wealth-creators. This unarguably fact is a proof that Nigeria will never experience NATIONAL TRANSFORMATION without PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION.

While our leaders debate over allocation of resources and whether or not to print more money, I think it will be wise of us, if we truly crave the kind of change we profess, to begin to allocate the resources at our own disposal appropriately. Resources like choice to do the right thing and do things right, decision to vote the right person into office; time allocation to doing things that will position us as a solution provider rather than problem creators; relationships that challenge our potentials, and propel us to maximize out latent potentials.

When extrinsic factors inundates our intrinsic values; Circumstances become our compelling counselors, and our potential to become a world changer is changed by the world. Effectiveness is about “I am, therefore I do.” not “I do, therefore I am.” I have said all of that to say that personal development is the way, emphatically, the only way to national development. The wealth of every nation is a function of the quality and not the quantity of people living therein. It is not how much of people we have in the government, but how much of people with self-governance.

I strongly believe that personal transformation is the key to national revolution. The problem of our Nation is not about National influence but Personal influence. I hope we can focus more on the seed and not the fruit; when we pray for the seeds, the fruits can get better. Naija o ni baje o!!!

IDENTITY

IDENTITY
One of the greatest breakthroughs in humanity is the discovery of self identity. And the greatest weapon that the enemy is using against individual is not demonic forces, is not principalities, the greatest weapon the enemy uses against humanity is the weapon of ignorance. And that the toughest question of life is the question of identity. Whether you like it or not, may be you want to hear it or not, anyone that must achieve greatness and lived life to the fullest must embrace self identity. It is not the number of days you live on earth that count. Life is fair to those who have the correct answers to the questions of life. And in fact, you are aware of it does not mean you have the knowledge of it, for you to be able to perform at your best you need to know who you are.

I am about to ask you such question that can make you discover your destiny, what a question that doesn’t regard age. I want you to take a moment and think before you answer this question and if you don’t, you may find yourself stinking.

YOU?

Why not take a piece of paper and pen down who you think you are. If you can answer this question then we are on a journey to destination.

The enemies of the twenty first century are against the people of the twenty first century using the greatest weapon which I called, “SELF IDENTITY” or “SELF AWARENESS”. The enemy realizes that the moment you discover your identity or self awareness then you can recover from your loss. It is the first step in the creation process and the enemies understand as you grow in self awareness, you will have a better understand why you feel what you feel and why you behave as you behave. That understanding then gives you the opportunity and freedom to change those things you would like to change about yourself and create the life you want. The fact remains that, without you having the understanding of who you are, self acceptance and change cannot be possible.

Identity is the first step in creating what you want and mastering yourself. It will help you focus your attention, your emotions, reactions, personality and behavior all of which determine your contribution in life. Your identity is who you are, what you have, where you are going and when you can be there. Your identity allows you to see where your thoughts and emotions are taking you. It also allows you to see the controls of your emotions, behavior, and personality so you can make changes you want. Until you are aware in the moment of the controls to your thoughts, emotions, words, and behavior, you will have difficulty making changes in the direction of your life. Meanwhile you cannot have a direction without you first knowing who you are; it is who you are that dictates where you are, and where to be.

If you don’t understanding why you do what you do, and feel what you feel, is like going through your life with a stranger's mind. And how do you make wise decisions and choices if you don't understand why you want what you want. Frankly speaking, it's a difficult and chaotic way to live never knowing who you are. How do you do what you are called to do without you knowing who you are called to be?

Your identity gives you a clear perception of your personality, including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation and emotions. It allows you to understand other people, and how they perceive you. Just like I usually tell people that if you fail to define yourself then people around you tends to define you wrongly. And that which you cannot define you may not refine. You need to be revealing to yourself for you to be able to make impart. It is that revelation that brings definition of who you are.

When you become more self aware you instinctively begin to see aspects of your personality and behavior that you are not aware before, If you have ever been in an auto accident you may have experienced everything happening in slow motion and noticing details of your thought process and the event. This is a state if heightened awareness. With practice we can learn to engage these types of heightened states and see new opportunities for interpretations in our thoughts, emotions, and conversations. 

I bring you to the end of this write up, but before I drop my pen let me once again ask you, who do you think you are? Keep meditating and keep thinking. Ask your creator for revelation, so that you can make fullest manifestation on earth. Forget about your name but remember who God says you are. Revelation unto you!!!

LIFE IS AN EQUATION

Life is like a game; it has no meaning to you until you understand the rules. The way we see life is the way life sees us, your contribution to life determines your outcome in life. Life is not fair because you are not fair to life. There was a time I was living a very miserable life that life was hard and tough, it was an era of suffering, so bad that because I permitted life to determine what I became, I was living in the dream of my parents and their background kept my back on the ground, I couldn’t become more than their dream until I discovered I am not a product of where I was born or where I live.

 Suddenly, I came to the consciousness of my being; I realized things would not change until I make that change. I considered my BEING before my DOING, my being now changed my doings, it is not what I do that really matters anymore, but who I am. How did I change from mediocrity life to living a life of excellence? First, you need to understand that life is an equation, until you know how to solve it your event may remain as failure. What did I change that changed result?

 LIFE is E+R= O E= Event R=Response O=Outcome

 Event in life will always be constant, things that happen suddenly, things we didn’t prepare or plan for, we cannot control event and we can’t change event. Since we cannot change event, then what do we need to change? Every result is determined by the input. Life can be liken to a computer, garbage in garbage out. Everything you experience in life both internally and externally is the result of how you have responded to a previous event. You are where you are today based on your responses yesterday; how you respond to the event determines the outcome.

You only have control over three things in your life;
1. The thoughts you think
2. The images you visualize
3. The actions you take Outcome will not change until you have learned to change your response.

If you don’t like your outcomes, change your responses. Remember, Event is constant, you can’t control event but you can change your response to event to change your life. I encourage you to decide success for yourself, be that change you want in your family.

I may not know you personally but there’s something I know about you that there is greatness within you. The past is the past. All that matters now is that from this point forward you choose what’s right, it’s a choice. You are 100% responsible for everything that does or doesn’t happen to you. There is only one person responsible for the quality of the life you live, that person is you. The greatest person in the world is YOU.

WHAT LOVE IS?

Over the few months, I have been having several people come to me with the question, "what is love?". I have gathered a few points of my view on what that word means to me. Many have defined love rightly and many have define love wrongly. ‎​we all see differently but ‎​we must all get it right. Read joyfully.

Love is a strong feeling and emotion of affection. Love is easy to say but these 4 words have a great significance. For everyone love has a different meaning. No one in the world can define the exact meaning of Love because for a mother has a different meaning of love towards his children and her husband. At this modern age, there is only talking about love between a boy and girls or teenagers love. In this young age love the person who is in love, is always ready to do all unbelievable things. The love of parents towards their children is the best love of the world that tells us that what the exact or true love meaning is.

Love simply means to care for other ones.  If you are always taking care of your beloved in every condition then this shows how deep the love is. In life there are many situations when you have to make some painful sacrifices for your love. Everyone think that there is someone special “beloved” in this world that cares for his/her from own self. In love, you can test your love in critical conditions that he/she is able to go with you. If someone sharing only your happy moment of life and have not time to come with you in trouble then it is not true Love. Someone said, “If you love someone from heart then all nature helps you to come close him/her”.

As much time you spend with your love, you will know about his/her behavior and how much he/she loves you so love dating is useful and helpful for true relations. In love sometimes, your beloved bad habits are also liked by you with his/her good ones. For a long and true love relationship always believe on each other and also don’t make a lie in any condition. Sometime we think that truth is painful for our loved one but we don’t think that we have to tell several lies to hide one painful truth. If your love is true then he/she will understand the conditions and situation that you have faced alone. We know that only human make mistake not GOD. Always be loyal towards your beloved if you have any problem then discuss with your partner so that he/she can helps you to come out from that.

Everyone feels and knows about LOVE but no one can define what it is in exact. Everyone has a different love definition and all are right. According to some love definitions, love is an attachment towards your beloved. No one knows the beginning of love and what its end is. Love is everywhere, so it starts from any place, time and age. Love has not, any boundaries and no one has sole ownership of love.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

Henry J. Kaiser says and I quote; ‘the climate for individual fulfillment does not begin to be as fine as it should be made.’ Living in a nation like Nigeria where very few recognize that there is an equal opportunity for every citizen and that everyone can be great, the fact remains that whether you are a graduate or not there is an equal opportunity for all to succeed in life, all men all created equal.

However, to the one who created the universe we all start off in life with the same rights, the same privilege and the same powers to become whatever we desire to become. Frankly speaking, individual has equal opportunity in spite of environmental influence. If such a great man like Jesus, who was born in a manger then you have no excuses to where you were born, life is not about where you live but about how you live. You don’t have to be birthed in a palace in order to be assured of success in life. Poverty is only an excuse for failure.

Many think they do not have an opportunity to succeed in life for lack of formal education, some feel because they did not complete high school or institution. But do we really consider the likes of Ford, Edison, Kaiser, Duke, and Frain, that they didn’t feel the same way about it. Do not let the absence of a formal education prevent you from achieving great heights of successful achievement.

Successful lives do not come about as a result of chance, lack, or good fortune. Success is inheritable. Success is born out of applied knowledge or more accurately, wisdom. I encourage that you do not submit your precious mind to its environment. Rise above the environment. I have long learned that you and you alone can change your destinies through knowledge and understanding. Burn your bridges behind you. Believe in yourself; see what you can become and not what you have become. No excuses. Start now.

FRIENDSHIP

Recently I started having a true feeling of what a good friend is so I began compiling my thoughts. But believe me there is no best way to write this without experience. Most of the thoughts are as a result of personal experiences. And I hope I have a few minutes of your time to read this. But before I proceed can I ask you to pause and ask yourself this question, do I really deserve a friend? And what is FRIENDSHIP?

I want to start by saying that a friendship with God is the best friendship to have. Friends are like rainbows, they brighten up your life once you’ve been through a storm. Though every friendship have their ups and downs, but only true friendships know how to make it through. When you are up, your friends know who you are. When you’re down, you know who your friends are. And behind every heart, there is a best friend guarding it in case it breaks. Being a good friend doesn’t mean lying to avoid hurt feelings. My best friends have gone from laughter to memories. My best friends have gone from friends to family. Friends make the bad times good and the good times unforgettable. Friends cry with you when you are crying. But your best friends already have a shovel to bury the loser that made you cry.

Earnestly, a friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are. And I have always compare friendship to a book, it takes a few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write. Friends are like blood, you do not get to see them all always, but they come out when you’re wounded. A true friend sees the first tear, catches the second, and stops the third. Friends tell you to be strong, true friends face it together with you. You can never truly get rid of your best friend, because they are in all your best memories.

A true friend is someone who is there for you when they would rather be someplace else. You have to be thankful for ugly moments because that’s when the beautiful people called real friends show up. When true friends fight, it’s not about who wins, loses. It’s about who forgives, forgets and still wants to be friends. A friend can tell you things you don’t want to tell yourself. Being a friend is being faithful without expecting anything in return. A friend sees your real smile and your real hurt. I feel sometimes having a friendship is a better option than having a relationship. The expectations are different tho.

No matter how strong or independent you are, you always need friends. They bring happiness to you. Real friends are not those who make you feel happy, but those who make you feel comfortable. Anyone can stand by you when you are right, but a true friend will stick by you, even when you are wrong. Friends don’t let friends bully. Make a stand and be someone’s friend. Shalom!!!
