Recently I started having a true feeling of what a good friend is so I began compiling my thoughts. But believe me there is no best way to write this without experience. Most of the thoughts are as a result of personal experiences. And I hope I have a few minutes of your time to read this. But before I proceed can I ask you to pause and ask yourself this question, do I really deserve a friend? And what is FRIENDSHIP?
I want to start by saying that a friendship with God is the best friendship to have. Friends are like rainbows, they brighten up your life once you’ve been through a storm. Though every friendship have their ups and downs, but only true friendships know how to make it through. When you are up, your friends know who you are. When you’re down, you know who your friends are. And behind every heart, there is a best friend guarding it in case it breaks. Being a good friend doesn’t mean lying to avoid hurt feelings. My best friends have gone from laughter to memories. My best friends have gone from friends to family. Friends make the bad times good and the good times unforgettable. Friends cry with you when you are crying. But your best friends already have a shovel to bury the loser that made you cry.
Earnestly, a friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are. And I have always compare friendship to a book, it takes a few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write. Friends are like blood, you do not get to see them all always, but they come out when you’re wounded. A true friend sees the first tear, catches the second, and stops the third. Friends tell you to be strong, true friends face it together with you. You can never truly get rid of your best friend, because they are in all your best memories.
A true friend is someone who is there for you when they would rather be someplace else. You have to be thankful for ugly moments because that’s when the beautiful people called real friends show up. When true friends fight, it’s not about who wins, loses. It’s about who forgives, forgets and still wants to be friends. A friend can tell you things you don’t want to tell yourself. Being a friend is being faithful without expecting anything in return. A friend sees your real smile and your real hurt. I feel sometimes having a friendship is a better option than having a relationship. The expectations are different tho.
No matter how strong or independent you are, you always need friends. They bring happiness to you. Real friends are not those who make you feel happy, but those who make you feel comfortable. Anyone can stand by you when you are right, but a true friend will stick by you, even when you are wrong. Friends don’t let friends bully. Make a stand and be someone’s friend. Shalom!!!

PASTOR, WHO SHOULD I MARRY?
Marriage is more serious than most people realize. It’s one relationship that is easy to enter, but almost impossible to exit. You can change your address, you can change you dress, but to change your spouse could be suicidal. It’s a union that takes all of you. So who do you marry?
A relationship is the foundation for everything, and many people date without relationship. You must marry based on agreements. You may disagree sometimes, but you have to agree on fundamentals. Agreement is a product of individuality. There are things that must have happened to the person you intend to marry such as: developing an intimate and personal relationship with God, discovering themselves as an individual, and learning to love and accept who they are. These things determine the health of any relationship. True self-esteem does not come from achievements, it comes from personal discovery. We don’t find our worth in other people’s opinion, but in the processes we have been through and discoveries we have made.
Let me progress like this, you must marry on purpose—not for pleasure or passion. You must marry for values and not for vain things; priorities change while purpose remains forever. You must examine your values critically before you decide to marry. Couples planning to marry must ensure they share common values; it will prevent unnecessary conflicts.
Marry someone who has decided to do something with their lives and not those who are living by chance. Marry realist: those who back their words and faith with action, yet build their castles in the air. Marry a committed friend: someone who identifies your strengths and weaknesses and helps you to manage them well; someone who challenges your potential and helps you deploys and maximize them.
You must marry a secure person or someone that you can help gets secured during courtship. Marry someone who is original and not a clone or masquerade, someone who is secure with his or her unique characteristics. Doing this will erase stupid competition or crisis within the relationship. It is a bad for a spouses to be compete or be intimidated by the other. This can lead to unimaginable evils.
Don’t marry for beauty; marry for balance, intelligence, character, vision and passion, poise and purpose. Marry for wisdom, not wealth. Wisdom is better than money; its benefits will remain forever and are not short-lasting. It is better to marry an average, humble, wise person than a rich and proud fool. Wisdom builds, but pride destroys what has already been built. Marry someone who nourishes. A man and woman in a relationship should nourish one another.
A man brings protection and attention while a woman brings affection and compassion. Your spouse is there to help you grow. A good test for your relationship is to ask yourself, “Has this person helped me become a better person?”
Both parties (man and woman) must be willing to provide for each other; however, it can be in different ways and beyond the physical. Men are to be strong to support the lady they are with. And as a man has his responsibilities, women ought to be tender.

REJECTION

The stone that the builders rejected has become the HEAD of the corner. You couldn’t follow them because God wanted you to lead them. Those who reject you are the father’s clear indication of who DOES NOT wants to participate in your destiny and you’ll see them one day.
You don’t have to live DEJECTED because you’ve been REJECTED. You don't have to be DEPRESSED just because they weren’t IMPRESSED. When you discover your value to God and His favor over your life, you’ll begin to view their rejection as his PROTECTION.
You’re so valuable that God has hidden His treasure IN You; His walking, breathing inheritance. Get a clue; you’re worth more than their NO. Some people don’t just walk out on you; they walked out on the FEAR of what they couldn’t be FOR you. You were their greatest challenge.
If you’re down about being rejected by people, I dare you to read Ephesians chapter one, but if you can stay down after that, you’ve rejected YOURSELF. Being accepted by God weighs more than being rejected by them. Sometimes it takes a minute for the CLUELESS to catch up with the ALL-KNOWING.
In conclusion, never change your God-given uniqueness to fit in to the the description of those who try to make your “extraordinary”, their “regular”. Be ORIGINAL. Allowing the hurt of rejection to rule your life says that you AGREE with the “non-value” that was ascribed to you. Break that agreement. Don’t spend your life trying to gain access to the people who have rejected you. You’ve already been accepted by God. That’s what matters.

NO SUCH THING AS NATIONAL TRANSFORMATION
A reasonable man adapts himself to the world, the unreasonable man tries to adapt the world to himself, but the most reasonable man creates his own world. When your external world drives you more than the dreams that are within you, you cease to be in charge. Circumstances become our compelling counselors, and our potential to become a world changer is changed by the world (Nation).
My concern now is not whether Nigeria is 51; my concern is what if a nation like Nigeria cannot change you, would you change the nation? Tell me, what is your contribution to the growth of our nation? It is a true statement that any nation that will grow must first grow within, because what happens within reflects without. This unarguably fact is a proof that Nigeria will never experience NATIONAL TRANSFORMATION without PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION.
It is so pathetic that many of us have lost personal identity in our quest for the retrieval of national identity. My question is, can doing ever take the place of being? We have become driven individuals rather than called individuals. Doing is simply the reflection of our inner core. Who I am should dictate what I do, not the other way round. In other words, we are human beings not human doings.
Like I once said in a conference, ‘that I am not an advocate for the orthodox national transformation.’ not because I don’t believe in anything national, but I strongly believe that personal transformation is the key to national calibration. The problem of our Nation is not about National influence but Personal influence. I hope we can focus more on the seed and not the fruit; when we pray for the seeds, the fruits can get better.
A great nation possesses more of human beings than human doings. It is “I am, therefore I do.” not “I do, therefore I am.” I have said all of that to say that personal development is the way, emphatically the only way to national development. The wealth of every nation is a function of the quality and not the quantity of people living therein.
This is my message to Nigerians on Nigeria’s 51stbirthday!!!
I actually wrote this for Nigeria on her 51st birthday!!!
Happy Birthday Nigeria!!!

EMPLOYABILITY
Nigeria’s capacity to employ its own population seems to diminish progressively, despite the country’s quantifiable fiscal ability resulting from the production and sale of Crude oil. However, the challenge remains that we did get into this; by lots of years of economic and social mismanagement and misguided policy; the best product of the educational system flew from the system; and excessive focus on certificate rather than skills. But it dissuades me that many of our graduates still heed this word “Employability” than “Ability”.
Employability is the capability of getting and keeping satisfactory work. It’s about capable of getting and keeping fulfilling work, having the capability to move self sufficiently within the labour market to realize potential through sustainability employment. Employability also depends on the knowledge, skills and attitudes that people possess; importantly the way they use those assets and present them to employers, and the context within which they seek work.
Certainly, your degree will unlock doors but you can’t rely on it alone. It will make you eligible to apply for jobs that specify a graduate applicant, though the subject and your class of degree may also be important to certain employers especially in our kind of environment. But however good your degree class, however relevant your subject to the job that you'll be applying for, it is probable that you will be competing for this job with a set of other graduates who are equally well-qualified academically.
Though a degree is not enough, also passing aptitude test is not enough, but there should be a combination of degree, skills, and attitude to get to the peak of your career. Your degree is not the only key, gets skills, know your skills and also put attitude in place.
Once your degree has unlocked the door, you'll need the right mix of skills, abilities and personal qualities in order to turn the handle and give the door the push that will open it to you. Get the right key and get employed.

VALUE
I often ask people these questions: why do you think you are being pay less? Why do you think your interviewer prefers the other person to you? And why do you think you attract someone special? I am so sure that a lot must have been pumping through your mind. Why do you think you attract the lower-class citizens, why do you think you are not making maximum achievement? And why do you think your growth is inconsistence? As an entity are you advancing or regressing? Are you increasing in age or value?
What I’m about to share with you are few thoughts of mine which I have been privileged to perspicuously discuss with peers and at conferences. But before I proceed, let me ask you this question, what do you think value is? And what is your worth?
“To be ignorant of one's ignorance is the malady of the ignorant.”
Value, in summary, I have defined as the unseen that put the seen on the edge. It is that unseen that causes a change on the seen. Also, value is the amount for which something can be exchanged in the open market; it is the equivalent of a thing. And I say, for every individual that must experience profitable change, he/she must first acquire noticeable value.
The resuscitating and enthralling speaker, Jimi Tewe, says in his most recent masterpiece titled, “Free from corporate slavery,” and I quote, “value optimization is essential about translating every potential that lies in discovered value into physical form so that it can be of benefit to society and the world at large.” I personally believe the unadorned truth that every organizational growth is triggered by employees’ growth, irrespective of its employer’s goal; also, that national growth is aided by personal growth; and more so, that the wealth of a nation is a function of the quality (value) and not quantity of people living therein. Every national transformation is usually a result of personal transformation. Like I usually say that to grow within is to grow without.
“The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance -- it is the illusion of knowledge.”
The result of every employee is measured by his input and contributions to the organization he works for. That’s why your value is your greatest tool for effectiveness and efficiency in organizational development, like wise national development. It is by your in-growth that you produce out-growth. I want to suggest to you that your increase in worth is a dependent factor on your increase in value; you cannot give more when you have not become more, and the measure of your value dictates the measure of your worth. If only you can show me your value, then I can tell you your worth.
I have discovered the same way value attracts, value repels. May be you are an undergraduate who needs Job and you have failed to care for value, then you have failed at getting a job. I have seen the market place as a place of exchange; somewhere we exchange value for value. My philosophy says, “Whatever you want to attract, you first must become.” The value of an accountant will not deliver the result of a doctor. And however, every value has their location, know your value, develop your value and locate your value placement.
It is very crucial for us as individuals to understand that our worth is determine by our value, the reason why you are where you are today is because you have acquired something, but my question is , is it value? Either you believe it or not, someone will have to be foolish for wisdom to continue to have value. It is who will be foolish that we do not know. In fact, this cannot be exterminated in the market place. Foolishness is a species that cannot become extinct, so is wisdom.
According to one of the greatest philosopher of our generation, Kunle Soriyan, he says, “nuisance value is the value of an entity’s contribution to the underdevelopment, disorderliness and irritation of society.” Entity here will be a community, nation, family, person, idea, process, system, procedure or whatever is a determinant factor of human success.
“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
The truth remains that, ultimate success is not measured in terms of present status but in the ultimate values of the system and structure you will leave behind as a legacy. And considering the fact that success is not only measured in terms of obvious achievement, but in terms of whatever you achieve compared to what you could have achieved. What you could have achieved compared to the true value of your potential. This is the true measurement of success.
In conclusion, it is very easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is also easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude. It is not about where you are but what you have. I have said all that is to say, that your intrinsic value will make you valuable and increase your worth. I encourage you to search for that which will make you relevant, and I hope to see you soon and hear your testimony. Peace

POTENTIAL VERSUS CREDENTIAL
I was privileged to speak at the NYSC camp, Ondo state, and after my delivery some Corp members came to ask me this question, “What do I need to get the job of my dream?” From observation, it is common to first-class graduates to say, “my result is good enough to get me anywhere in the marketplace.” While, on the other hand, the general confession of most second class lower or third class graduate is, “if I can just get any job, I will be so happy.” In addition, few of the most common philosophy and verbal expression of an average Corp member are, ''getting a job is not easy, you need to have the best grade to get the best pay,” “I need someone up to get up,” “I have remained on the ground because of my background.'' And I asked myself, would it be grade or grace? Is it “credential or potential?''
KNOW THYSELF
Affirmatively, I have observed and concluded that one of the tools that help you in getting the right job is your potential and not just your credential. I have defined potential as a credential that will make you influential and essential in life. I think it is very essential that youths should first discover their potential before acquiring a credential; your potential will help you to get to the right market, and display you as the right commodity. But also, there is need for you to discover your location after that you have discovered and refined your potential. Having converted your potential into value, it is also important that you acquire the skill to sell yourself, knowing well that no organization will employ you without perceiving your intrinsic value. No organization wants to pay for liability, they only pay for asset. What are you? And what have you?
Frankly speaking, you need to understand who you are before you can relate who you are; relating who you are and what you have is a great challenge in the labour market. When a man locates his location then his allocation will locate him. There might be conflict when you are trying to know who you are, but there is always a convex after discovery. You need self awareness before employment; finding a job is not as important finding yourself.
FIND YOUR PLACE
Moreover, one of the inherent characteristics of self discovery is that it elucidates where your potential is most relevant and needed. In the discovery of you is the realization of your supposed location and position. Your potential can't be something to everyone, but could be everything to someone. Knowing who you are, what you have and then which company needs that which you have will make a great difference in your career. The ancient book says, “Fools weary themselves because they don’t know the way to town.” But my challenge is that if you don’t know the way, you should know who to ask. Destiny requires Clarity. Every destination needs a direction for the justification of activity.
Many graduates have discovered their potential but some failed to value it. Agree with me that whatever you don't appreciate will depreciate, what you fail to value you devalue, and that which you don't use you will lose. Every man God created is not empty, for you to make impact you need to discover your potential, value your potential, develop your potential, commercialize your potential and share your potential. Every individual has an irresoluble calling or combination of natural and unique talents, and it’s up to us to discover them, refine them, and display them. The value you don’t celebrate will not appreciate.
SHARPEN YOUR SKILL, SHAPEN YOURSELF
Many graduates often attempt to do mighty things with tiny skills, but my challenge has always been how do you do something without having anything? The labour market is a place of exchange; it is a place where we exchange value for value, not certificate for money. And if you must be in that market or for you to get a job, you have to get the value that will attract your employer. Getting a job to me simply require creating value, and communicating that value. And creating value requires that you discover yourself, develop yourself, feed your mind not your tummy, and ingest yourself with relevant information to avoid deformation. Employment, I think, should only be for those who are intellectually capable, not those who are intellectually disabled.
Many graduates have asked me the question, “How do I develop my potential?” and one of my most common suggestions is personal development, the refinement of potential, skill and philosophy. In addition, whatever you yearn for you learn from, and whatever you learn for you earn for. Your potential is the key, discover it and maximize it. I challenge you to challenge yourself that your present condition is not the best, what you have is never enough, get knowledge, get facts, be the best to beat the best, and let what you have attract what you want.
I wish you all the best in your career advancement.

"OKUN IFE"
“A break of heart is not a break of life”
Hi friends, It gives me great delight to share with you in a moment, a true life story of Mac, who got into a relationship with a damsel called Mag. I am confident that at the end of this write up you will have a few things to learn not by default anyway. Laugh! A young man called Mac started a short-lived romantic and envied relationship with a young and descent lady, called Mag in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. But this eight months mellifluous affair ended just some weeks ago.
“The best divorce is the one you get before you get married”
I am about to express my sincere mind and my experience in a broken relationship. Hum! Do we still have a life after a break up? Share my heart trauma.
The truth is that, a break up is one of the toughest things you’ll ever experience. Breaking up from an unhealthy relationship even hurts. And research proved that, the person who initiates a break up can suffer more unhappiness than the person who is being rejected. Research shows fifty one percent of breakups are initiated by the woman and forty two percent by the man.
I think sometimes, a breakup helps the destiny of both party, especially in an unhealthy relationship, but the truth remains that breaking up can be the kindest cruelty, it’s going to be painful for both of you, however, the best thing you can do for an unhealthy relationship is call it off.
“A broken relationship is better than a broken marriage”
Sincerely speaking, Mac relationship with Mag was not an unhealthy one from the beginning. What then is the challenge? Read the brief story.
“A ring doesn’t make a lady sincere to you”
After a few months of relationship, Mac engaged Mag with the agreement on both side to make it husband and wife. But suddenly, Mag changed in behavior and decided not to see Mac for any reason. Knowing that, Mag has started hanging out with a male friend and became attached emotionally but before Mac could realize it, a quit letter had already been prepared. Is it that Mac is not caring enough, or may be is not man enough, but mag had confess several times to Mac, as the best man she has ever come across. But the Yoruba adage will say, “aja to ba ma sonu, ko ni gbo fere olode.
”‘’When you are not sincere in relationship, you cannot be sincere in marriage’’
Eventually, and without any offence, Mag called Mac and said in a loud voice, I want a breakup. A shock! Mac thought it was a joke, not until over two months of plead by Mac, still Mag decision won’t change. What then is her reason for a breakup, she said, ‘I am not in love with you Mac, does it really shocked you? I got some facts and realize she’s seriously emotionally attached to another guy and started dating him, oh what a pity! You’ll say. How did Mac feel? Hum
It is fair to say that, breaking up relationship even a bad one, is ever free from pain for either person, be you the breaker or the breakee, you can expect to suffer loss and expect to grieve, but not in the case of Mag. What a wicked lady you think? Mac, how can someone be so present in your life one moment and gone the next, so surprised that affection we shared together suddenly disappear.
“Attention grows affection”
However, even in pain I have discovered a few reasons why some stay in an unhealthy relationship; can I share few with you? Thanks for given me your time, this is where you need to learn!!!
REASON 1: Some stays in a relationship because of time and energy (resources) invested. I think that makes them hang onto an unhealthy relationship.
REASON 2: I can make him or her change. Trust me you can’t change what you have not created.
REASON 3: God said it. (Will). Double check, if God said it then what is God saying now? And however, it takes two to make it happen. We can’t force things to be.
REASON 4: Social Pressure. You want to belong.
REASON 5: No Alternative. Another reason some stay in an unhealthy relationship is because they don’t have an alternative.
“Every broken heart has a heartbreaker”
Even while you want to breakup, why not talk to a confidant, don’t keep it to yourself if the idea is rolling around your head, and while do you have to do it when you are in love with another person, it ‘s a jilt and double dating. Call it unfaithful partner.
But also if you’ll have to break, you don’t have to put it off, face it. I realize the longer you put it off, the more pain you cause. Really, I advice you don’t enter a conspiracy of silence when it comes to your feelings, but make it a clean breakup. I think the best approach is to be honest and direct, I hope you will agree with me that being honest is not the same as being brutal. You can still be gentle if you are going to make a clean breakup. Never do it to molest the other person. Someone may want to know what I did after a breakup. Just a few things! Some facts to observe!!!
FACT 1: I face reality. I mean I have to move on, and admit the relationship is over. Most times if you don’t admit denial you may have to lose your dignity and people who don’t admit it’s over will sacrifice their self respect.
“If you don’t have a self awareness, a denial may let you lose your self esteem”
FACT 2: I stop blaming myself. Self blame will do nothing to help you learn from mistakes and become a better person.
FACT 3: I never think of revenge.
FACT 4: Beware of Rebounding. Research shows that people on the rebound tend to fall in love with people who will soon reject them.
Personal opinion, I think ladies initiate breakups more than guys do and feel in more control of the situation, reason been that they have more friends ‘male’ to help them deal with distress after the breakup. Personal experience as I said.
As part of my experience and discovery, can I just mention few of those things I went through after and during the breakup? Sit right and learn!!!
PHAZE 1: DENIAL. Just at this point you are going to feel rejected. But don’t see less of who you are.
PHAZE 2: BARGAINING. No false expectation. Don’t negotiate within you, coming back or not. Just move on.
PHAZE 3: DEPRESSION. You deserve to feel depressed after losing someone you truly love. But don’t stay too long. Move on with your life.
PHAZE 4: ACCEPTACE. According to Robert Frost, acceptance comes when you bow to the end of a love, when we recognize its season has passed.
And after the whole scenario, I thought my heart was going to break in pieces, I was very upset and disappointed, couldn’t eat for days, got deeply depressed and feel no one could have convinced me I would ever get over Mag, but in time I did and with the help of my mentor, Pastor Tunji Babajide, the one who could not hide the truth from me, and also Pastor Olumide Omojuyigbe for been so blunt and real.
Dear Friend, you may want to ask, what are you suppose to do after a breakup. It’s alright to get depress but don’t stay long, just get up and move on with your life. This is what I learned, if somebody want to walk out of your life, LET THEM GO!!! Especially, in a situation whereby you have tried to be the best you can be. Not everybody that comes into your life have come to stay, some people come in your life for a life time, and some come for season, but you have to differentiate, you can always mess up when you mix -up seasonal people with life time expectation. You can’t get married with someone you are supposed to be with for a season, trouble!!! Wahala!!!
Illustration. I have seen everybody coming into my life like a category of a tree. Some people are like the leaves, they’re never stable during storm, and most people in our society are like that. And some people are like a branch on a tree, they make you think they are good friends, just be careful because they’ll fool you, and the moment you step on them, they breakup and leave you. But if you find two or three people in your life like the root at the bottom of a tree, you are blessed and celebrate them.
“Too many friends don’t make you too much”
A tree can have many leaves but a few roots make it stand, too many friends don’t make you too much. I really appreciate the two brothers that stood by me like the root, Obafemi Samuel & Olabode Matthew; Seye Jeff, you remain my best friend. I love you guys more than silver and gold. And also to my precious aunt, Kehinde Adebayo…. You deserve the best ma! lol
I must confess that I never regret knowing Mag, and I never took it personal, it was just an event. She taught me what I never knew, she showed me what I couldn’t have seen, and she made me believe in my dream. Until I get to see you on this side of the world or the other side of the world, in a seminar or maybe I’ll come and speak for a company that you work for some day, I hope I get a chance to meet you, till then. I wish you the best Mag !!!

PARADIGM SHIFT!!!
Charles Kettering says and I quote, “the opportunities of a man are limited only by his imagination.” And the law of substitution states, “your mind can hold only one thought at a time, positive or negative.” But the law of habit says, “Any thought or action that you repeat over and over will eventually become a new habit.” So I say, a success or failure, your thoughts determine your whole life.
"All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve
is the direct result of his own thoughts." - James Allen
Your outer world is very much a mirror image of your inner world. What is going on outside of you is a reflection of what is going on the inside. Whatever you hold in your mind will tend to occur in your life. Remember, what the mind can conceive the mind can achieve. If you want a different result in your life, all you have to do is to change your thought, or maybe you want to change your life then change your thoughts.
"The conventional wisdom of the world is, "I'll believe it when I see it."
One of the greatest favors you can do the world is to grow a positive mindset. You need to do the very thing you think you cannot do. I agree that no one is better than you, if you can think success, then you’ll become success. Nature treats everyone alike, and nature plays no favorites. Aristotle wrote, “Whatever is impressed is expressed,” you cannot express what you are not inside on the outside. Your expression inside is your reflection outside. Your outer world corresponds to your inner world, and overtime, what happens to you depends to a degree on what happen inside you. Thought is quite literally the often overlooked seed that shapes YOUR external world.
Change Your Thoughts, And You Will Change Your World!
There is no doubt sir, that your external experience is a reflection of your internal thought. I have said all of these to say that your subconscious mind is enormously power. You cannot be small on the inside and you expect to be big on the outside. You are nothing but a reflection of your thought. Your thought is who you are. Have you ever given much "thought" with regard to what your thoughts are, where they come from or the power they have in molding and shaping your life?
You are not what people think you are, you are a perfect picture of your thought, you are the only architect of your future, and if it doesn’t look great inside it cannot be great on the outside. Your thought becomes you, and you become thoughts. Change your thought and you change your life. Peace within!!!

BE WISE!!!
Wisdom is a gift from God and a value to acquire. By biblical prescription, an unabated fear of God can propel the effusion and acquisition of wisdom. Moreover, you cannot get wisdom without instruction. Wisdom then I say, is a product of knowledge plus understanding. Knowledge is what you know based on acquired information, but understanding is the comprehension of the information you have acquired, it is the expression of knowledge. Undeniably, you can be delivered by what you know and be oppressed by what you don’t know; likewise, you can be transformed by what you know and be deformed by what you don’t know. The fear of God is what gives birth to wisdom, which implies that we can express our fear for God by simply obeying His instructions. In this context, the Hebrew word for wisdom is “sekel”, meaning INSIGHT.
A revelator once said, “The greatest acceleration a man can ever experience is by personal revelation.” Take note that what is revealed to you is what is restored to you. This then clearly elucidates the fact that the difference between the fool and the wise is their acquisition and application of knowledge; the inability of a fool to possess the intrinsic value of a wise man is what places him in his own class. Likewise, the difference between an adult and a toddler is knowledge, which further establish the fact that a man can be “of age” and still be “of fool,” you can be at forty and still be a dummy, you may look like an adult on the inside but live as a kid on the inside. Your internal value is what controls your external conducts; and your capacity to deliver is a dependent factor on your capacity to receive.
And I personally believe that wisdom is not given by age, neither is it inherent by race, but it is given by grace. Mind you, your age or race does not determine your grace. But your grace determines your race.
More so, it feels good to be instructed by God than to be corrected by Him. Correction is an alternative solution to failure. To be corrected by God is as a result of failure to heed to instruction. Instructions give way to direction, and directions lead to the right destination. God’s intent is to counsel, guide and instruct man in the way he should go. However, when a man rejects God’s instruction, he rejects God’s direction, and to reject God’s direction is to face destruction.
According to Fela Durotoye, one of Africa’s most sought after speaker, “you will always pay people for what you don’t know, but people will only pay you for what you know.” In addition, to become a fool is to despise instruction and correction. The old book says and I quote, “my son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother.” Jokingly speaking, for you to go far in life, you need a father (instruction), but for you to know more you need a mother (law). You cannot have a father without a mother, and the more you know the farther you go.
In conclusion, it is good to be aware, it is better to be informed, but it is best to be wise. Exploit thrives on the wings of decision, and quality decision is a function of wisdom. Knowledge get you informed, but wisdom makes you relevant. Knowledge keeps you, but wisdom makes you. Pursue knowledge, embrace understanding, but in all thy getting, get Wisdom!!!

POSITIVE THINKING (part 1)
The basic idea of this article is to demonstrate how our thoughts, attitude and beliefs make up our life. It is not a magic but a principle, that no individual can be better than his or her thought. Everyone can move from failure to success and from lack to abundance by their thought. Your thought is who you are, and who you are is as a result of your thought. We all grow at the pace of our thought, by the virtue of our thought we are the maker of ourselves. Whatever you are now is as a result of who you are on the inside.
The ancient book says, “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” Literally, a man becomes his thought. Your thought is a reflection of your inner man; it is a reflection of who you are on the inside, which ultimately forms your character. If you really want to change you; first, let there be a change on your inside, because what you see on the inside, is the total sum of what you are on the outsides.
According to the words of Obafemi, One of Africa’s foremost speakers, “Life is not measured per year, it is measured per second. But the quality of life is not measured per second, it is measured per thought.”
The aphorism “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor my ways your ways.’’ No one can rise above the level of his or her thought, Frankly speaking, the quality of the thought that flow through your mind determines the quality of your life. Whatever we become is first created in our mind. I strongly believe that the only difference between the poor and the rich is the state of their mind. Every word that a man pronounces is a product of his thought. I think words are fruits that grow out of our thoughts.
I am yet to discover a man that succeeded without thinking. In thought man builds himself, and in the same way man destroys himself. We are the master of our thought, and the molder of our character, and the one who determines our destiny. The law of thought state that to change you, you must first change your thought.

MAKING GREAT DECISION
It is crucial for every individual to understand that your tomorrow is no better than the decisions you are making today. How then do you make decisions without regret? Life is too short for regrets, and that’s why it’s so important for you to know who you are, and what is important to you. Though regrets are meant to teach us what to do better next time, but that is if second chance will permit us.
‘’Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious than to be able to decide’’
Napoleon Bonaparte
The English new dictionary defines decision as a conclusion reached after consideration. Frankly speaking, your future is as strong as the decisions that precede it. You cannot make great decision if you do not take seriously the consequences of that decision and base your decision on thorough information.
I think, “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a decision and then a step.” Great destiny is a function of great decisions; we all choose our joy & sorrow long before we experience them. Your present is the total sum of the accumulated effects of the decisions you have made in the past, and your future will be a reflection of your present decisions. Your decision is what makes your destiny. We are all beings of destiny, but products of decision. The bottom line is that we make decisions and decisions make us. Any decision that cannot make you will ultimately destroy you; that cannot increase you will undoubtedly decrease you. We make decisions based on the information that is available to us; and information we say brings transformation.
‘’Every transformation is as a result of your information.’’
Mistakes, in human are inevitable, but can be avoided or reduced in effect. And in order for you to increase your chances of being effective at decision making, I would like to introduce to you a resplendent model called FASTIN.
FASTIN is simply the guide you use when trying to gather the information for your profile. Is universal; it is built on the concept of asking more and acting well, rather than the conventional approach of thinking less and acting more. It emphasizes the fact that every decision you will take requires anticipation before action, that asking precedes acting. FASTIN should be a lifestyle of every decision makers and not just a mere tool. Remember, the power belongs to those who ask the right questions in order to avoid making wrong decisions.
‘’Question your Question.’’
FASTIN speaks the language of the mind, and for FASTIN to be effective you have to be able to ask question before taking steps.
F- Facts not Opinion
A-Ask the right & best source
S-See in Systems
T-Think and Act the best way
I-Inquire, Expect, Prepare, Move
N-Never Assume
Find the facts, not opinions. Facts rule the lives of the successful people. They do all to ensure they have all the relevant data before making decisions. As the saying goes ‘’ The Facts Never Lie.’’ Getting a poor opinion is like poor information which gives you poor decision. You can’t make great decision with poor information. Individuals have been misguided by the opinions of other people. Making great decision demand that you gather all the facts, not some facts, it is a discipline trait that must be learn and adopted continuously.
Ask the right and best source. Information is the difference between failure and success, and where you get that information is just as important as the information itself. If information is what is used to make decisions, then that individual who wants to use the information must make sure that information is gotten from the right and best source.
See in systems. This is the ability to understand that nothing in life or work is isolated, everything and anything is connected to a series of things, which makes a whole thing.
Think and Act the Best Way. It is the ability to make decisions based on rationalizing and not on emotions, is a key to effective living.
Inquire, Expect, Prepare, Move. Everything human beings have a pattern and it is advisable to know the behavior pattern of anyone or anything before engaging in relationships or even business.
''Whenever you see a successful business,
someone once made a courageous decision.'' Peter Drucker
Never Assume.
Certainty in life is the key. The key formula of certainty is cross checking things over and over again. In relationship it means that trust has to be earned. Leaving things to chance could be dangerous, believing all is well, without taking the time to make sure that things are in place.
The entirety of this write-up is focused on the introduction and application of this concept. This concept promises to yield positive result and en masse success based on the fact that it is not built on theoretical notions, but on empirical evidences by great successful individuals and corporations all over the world that have embraced its application and accuracy.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT!!!
At the risk of sounding like a Grumpy Old Man, and with near certainty that this post will be roasted by many who read it, I am about to make the case that there is such a thing as Personal Development. I define Personal development as a process that produces personal change and progress. And It starts from within. Whatsoever you must become outside is as a result of what you are on the inside. Every individual is the result or product of their thoughts. I am not confused to say that you cannot grow beyond your thoughts. The ancient writings say “as a man thinks in his heart so is he’’. Bottom line; you cannot be better than your thoughts and values.
God created everyone to grow on a daily basis, man is not supposed to be stagnant or static. When you don’t grow nothing grows around you; your environment and you will improve only as a result of your efforts to improve on yourself, when you improve things around you improve. Our world is created in such way that nothing moves if you don’t move.
Every individual’s growth is a result of their choices, you can choose to learn and become the person you aspire to be, or you can choose to hesitate, be stagnant and doubtful but remember that when you live in fear you actually live in mediocrity. Everyone is responsible for his or her improvements and success as well as your frustrations and lack of progress.
Personal development will only happen when you have come to a state of discovery, however it’s my discovery that, there would never be personal development without first personal discovery; it’s your discovery that determines your recovery, whatever you discover you recover. It is being before doing. You cannot do without first being. Your being is what activates your doing.
And how do you become before doing, I am going to discuss that in the next chapter and before I do that I want to make us understand that personal development will happen when you make a firm decision to understand yourself, improve your awareness, work on your attitude, believe in yourself and your potentials, develop your skills, set your goals and begin with the end in mind.
I know you’ll want to ask a question like where and how do you start!
I’ll say first that you need to have self discovery, then self development plan which is workable system for your personal development and growth. But don’t forget always take continuous actions.
You need to know in which direction you want to go so as to help you work on yourself, do all that you can do and always do your best while at it. This is what I always refer to as self help.
Ask yourself these few questions:
Do you like where you are and what you have become?
-Have you ever wished that your life was better?
-Is your relationship with others working the way you want it to be?
-Are you producing the results that you want?
-What makes you feel good?
-Why do you do what you do?
-What have you been telling yourself about you?
-How do you go from here to where you want to be?
-How much time do you spend with yourself?
When you begin to ask yourself these questions, you will start looking for the answers within you. Because life will ask you questions, and your answers must always come from within. Your journey to discover yourself, improve and grow will begin as you find answers to these questions.
No one but you can take that decision and choice to move from where you are to where you desire to be, and I think one of the most important things you can do to turn your situation around is to shift your perception by looking at the positive aspects of where you are. Why? Your perception is your reality. Never forget this that, genuine discovery is an attitude of the heart. It’s an attitude that affects the entire life of every individual and controls his or her responses to life.
It’s your thoughts that birth your beliefs, your beliefs make your convictions, your convictions make your attitude, your attitude controls your perception, and your perception dictates your behavior. I think your life is what you think it should be. However genuine discovery is not a result of memorizing formulas, or learning skills, not also imitating someone or techniques. It is an attitude of the heart. It is the real you from the inside.
Your attitude is what dictates your responses to the present and which determines the quality of your future. And if you do not discover yourself, how do you know your attitude and how to control it. You are your attitude, and your attitude is you, control your attitude before it controls you. Attitude is what creates your world, it’s what designs your destiny; it’s a determinant of your success or failure in any life’s venture. It can make beauty ugly, and skillful without results.
Dr. Myles Munroe defines attitude as ‘’the mind-set or mental conditioning that determines our interpretation of and response to our environments.’’ It is our way of thinking. In essence your attitude is the manifestation of who you think you are. And who you are is the real person within you.
You need to understand who you are and what you are meant to be which are the keys to fulfilling your purpose for existence in life. Whatsoever you see on the inside is what you become on the outside, if you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand; and by it, I mean the future. The way is not in the sky, the way is in the heart, the real you is in your heart. Everything you see happening is the consequence of that which you are within.
We cannot teach people personal development principles but we can only help them discover it within themselves, I challenge you to discover the real you from within you and manifest your potentials on earth.

The Practice of Leadership!!!
The greatest need of manhood is leadership. And our greatest challenge in our nation or at global is that of a leadership vacuum. Strategically speaking, our greatest need is not money, not social programs, or even new governments. Our greatest need is quality, disciplined, moral and people centered leadership.
However, Leadership is the ability to inspire and influence a group of people to achieve worthwhile goals. I’ll want you to take note of these six words underlined, and to be observed critically, without these words leadership is incomplete and irrelevant. I discovered that one of the quickest route to leadership is problem solving. Leadership is the ability and willingness to recognize, reconnect, refine, release, replicate or reproduce skills, talents, abilities and potentials in people, irrespective of their present problems to make them a progressive people, producing preferable result.
One of our greatest gurus in leadership Dr. Myles Munroe said, genuine leadership is one’s internal disposition, which relates to a sense of purpose, self worth, and self concept.
A leader takes people where they want to go, but a great leader take people where they don’t necessary want to go but they ought to be. (Roseline Carter)
How to become a leader….
Anyone that must become a great leader must observe the following points;
1.Solve your own problem first.
2.Help others solve their own problems by the things you have discovered when solving your own problem. (we all follow the leadership of Jesus today because he solved the problem of sin)
4.Diagnose and define the source of the problem.
5.Generate alternative solution to solving the problem.
6.Evaluate and select best alternative solutions.
7.Implement and follow up on the solution.
In our discussion on the practice of leadership it’s necessary for me to mention a few characteristics of a great leader and then what leadership is not.
Characteristics of a leader…
When we talk about characteristics of a leader we are talking about attributes, nature, originality, quality, mannerism, the virtue, flavor, trade mark and personality of a great leader. A study at Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management found that compassion and building teamwork will be two of the most important characteristics business leaders will need for success a decade from now, but I think that is not enough. Follow me closely as I expose the critical aspect of leadership.
The word characteristics I derive from the word character. Any leader without character cannot produce characteristics, in other words character is what gives birth to characteristics.
Character I say is everything, it’s easy to get to the position of leadership but that which can easily destroys you at the top of leadership if not in place is character. Reputation is what people feel or think about you but character is what God knows about you, here is what we teach in leadership that, the heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. In other words character is within and reputation is without. If your heart is right your act will be right.
The characteristics or character of a great leader is,
Ability to initiate change:
Leaders help where to attain to the next experience and they are always dissatisfied with their current level. The ability to initiate change is what makes the difference between the leaders and the followers. Change is risk, but irrespective of what people will say, a leader will always initiate change. Strategically, there are many elements to a campaign but leadership is number one and everything else is number two.
Leaders have sense of divine timing:
The person who knows what to do, how to do it, where and when will always take the leadership position. Leaders don’t move after God has move, leaders move when God is moving. When the leadership is right and the time is right, the people can always be counted upon to follow to the end and at all costs.
Leaders know and focus on what is important:
A leader knows what is urgent, more so what differentiate the leader from follower is that followers want to do everything, but leader focus on what is important.
Leaders have vision:
The ability of a leader to see clearly is what makes people follow him.It is your sight that determines your size, and without vision you may be going everywhere without going somewhere. But there are three dimensions to a leader’s vision,
1. Hindsight: seeing yesterday difficulties or activities, those who cannot remember the failure of yesterday, will repeat them.
2. Insight: knowing today possibilities, seeing beyond the obvious. In every difficulty there are opportunities.
3. Foresight: seeing tomorrow’s opportunity. It is what your eyes can see that your hand can cease, and what your eyes can’t comprehend your heart can’t comprehend.
Leaders have commitment:
There is a difference between commitment and involvement. Leaders are dedicated to continuous improvement; anyone that will lead must be a reader because leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. A good leader develops through a never ending process of self study, education, training, and experience.
Leaders connect with people:
A good leader touches people with love and emotion. People will first buy into you before they buy into your vision. Henry Ford said, “Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is the progress and working together is success.” Leadership effectiveness is more of relationship development and management than goal setting and accomplishments. And the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers, though the first step to leadership is servant hood.
With basics understanding on leadership and characteristics we can now inspect what leadership is not…..
-Leadership is not only becoming a person of celebrities but a person with great responsibilities.
-Leadership is not about status but about service.
-Leadership is not about power but about people.
-Leadership is not about position but about operation.
-Leadership is not about title but about task.
-Leadership is not about aptitude but about attitude.
-Leadership is not about demanding for respect but about delivering respect.
-Leadership is not about personal achievement but people’s development.
-Leadership is not about charisma but about character.
-Leadership is not about being satisfied but more of willingness to sacrifice.
-Leadership is not about party but about personality.
-Leadership is not about principle but about life style.
-Leadership is not about structure but about culture.
-Leadership is not about pursuit but about result.
-Leadership is not about “come” into but about “call” into.
Leadership as said by Dr. Myles Munroe is not an exclusive club for the elite. Everyone is called into leadership.
Practical leadership,It is an attitude of the heart. Sincerely speaking, leadership is not so much about technique and methods as it is about opening the heart. Leadership is about inspiration of oneself and of others. The great leadership is about human experiences, not processes. Leadership is not a formula or a program, it is a human activity that comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others. “Blessed is the leader who seeks the best for those he serves.”

IS IT LEADERSHIP?
Almost every organization has someone in a position of leadership but the effective organizations have learned to distinguish between having someone in a position of leadership and having an eldership or a rulership. Many have failed to understand that ‘’rulership’’ or ‘’eldership’’ is not leadership.
Any leader that does not understand his destination may lead the ship in a wrong direction and then we say the ship is bad; it is not the ship but the leader. Anyone in charge of the ship gives the ship definition and direction, it may be leader in the ship, an elder in the ship or a ruler in the ship.
The unfortunate truth is that most African churches, organization, and government have people occupying offices who do not know the first thing about leading people. Given my perspective, it should be clear that having a title or position does not make one a leader, anymore than swimming in the ocean makes one a fish.
Society’s problem and great deficit is that we do not have enough leaders who understand leadership styles, approach, and also principles. Our society needs people in politics, ministry and business who know how to apply their leadership styles in the boardroom; we need political leaders who seek their guidance from God and not from thugs and elders. Our society longs for statesmen but it gets rulers, tyrants and exploiters.
Leadership is one of the most observed and least understood phenomena on earth. On my study on leadership, I discovered that voluminous materials are currently being published on the topic, yet there seems to be no simple definition of it.
Warren Bennis and Burt Nanus discovered over 850 different definitions of leadership; I think this may be one of the major reasons why today’s leaders are unsure how they measure up. Too many standards to meet!
By reading and research I have come across various definitions on leadership but the following is a small sampling of the helpful definitions that have been offered by some leadership experts;
‘’Leadership is the process of persuasion or example by which an individual induces a group to pursue objectives held by a leader or shared by the leader and his or her followers.’’
John w Gardner
‘’The central task of leadership is influencing God’s people toward God’s purpose.’’
Robert Clinton
‘’Leadership is influence, the ability of one person to influence others.’’
Oswald Sanders
‘’Leadership over human beings is exercised when persons with certain motives and purposes mobilize, in competition or conflict with others, institutional, political, psychological, and other resources so as to arouse, engage, and satisfy the motives of followers. ‘’
James MacGregor Burns
‘’A Christian leader is someone who is called by God to lead, leads with and through Christlike character; and demonstrate place. ‘’ George Barna
All of these definitions help bring focus upon the role of leaders. Burns, one of the most respected scholars in leadership theory, explain that leaders are motive-driven. And he notes that leaders may have first aroused motives within their followers before they can engage and satisfy those motives.
A leader is a man who has the ability to get other people to do what they don’t want to do and like it. Any leaders who make no difference in their followers’ lives are not actually leaders. I heartily agree that leaders must exert influence if they are to lead.
Effective leadership must consider the following three C’s which is very crucial in leadership; call, character, and competencies. Leadership either in business, church, and politics should be ultimately measured not according to the leader’s skills but on the leader’s results.
Popularity is not leadership, and leadership is not status but service, not title but task, not power but purpose, not by been aggressive but been assertive. It is not what you have but what you can offer. It is not where you are but who you are. Many of our leaders accept status, title but neglect service and task, forgetting that its responsibility that calls for leadership and any leader that fails to accept responsibility will surely die in liability.
It is not the crown that calls for the king but ability to respond to situation. Every position of a leader is a cry for solution provider, problem solver. It’s right to intuitively know that claiming to be a leader or holding a leadership position does not make someone a leader. There is no leadership without followership. The higher you want to climb, the more you need leadership skills and ability, and the more you try to do in life, the more you will find that leadership makes the difference. You can overcome many challenges in a church and organization, but you cannot compensate for the lack of good leadership. Believe me that nothing will cripple a nation, organization, church, business and home more completely than the absence of effective leadership.
As you strive to build your organization, business strategy, family and church structure, I want you to remember this, stated by one of the leadership gurus, John C Maxwell. That;
Personnel determine the potential of the organization
Relationships determine the morale of the organization
Structures determine the size of the organization
Vision determines the direction of the organization
Leadership determines the success of the organization
Personal and organizational effectiveness is proportional to the strength of leadership. No organization can grow beyond its leadership. No matter where you go or what position you hold, I’ve learned that ‘’leadership is leadership.’’ Everything changes, time rotates, culture changes and varies but leadership principles remain constant.

ABORTION
ABORTION
According to the English mini dictionary, ‘’abortion is the deliberate bringing to an end of a human pregnancy. Abortion is the extermination of the future.
Abortion is the termination of foetus in a mother’s womb, and to abort means to terminate life before its full potential has or can be realized, before the person, plant or animal is given an opportunity to fulfill its full potential.
I know someone must have started questioning herself by her past events, relax and allow your present to determine your future. You’re not going to be condemned but lifted.
The abortion in view is not only the termination of biological foetus, but the destruction of seed which ought to make a forest, abortion of potentials, abortion of dreams, abortion of ideas and vision.
Everything made by God was created with the hidden ability to fulfill its course. The bible record of creation states that the seed of everything has ability in itself to produce after its kind.
Adam, the first man to commit abortion in the Garden of Eden, when he aborted the vision God has placed in his heart and destroyed the directives of the manufacturer; he changed the lives of the entire human race, including You!
The fact that you were born is evidence that God knows earth needed the potential you have. It would be sad that you leave this planet without giving birth to those dreams, ideas, inventions, and vision and remember vision rules the world.
Abortion, it robs life of its essence and denies the future its value. Every man that lives by Insight sees in every seed a tree, in a bird a flock, in a cow a herd, in a girl a woman, in a boy a man, and in a man he sees a Nation.
It’s true that the grave yards are full of great men and women who never became great because they did not give ability to their responsibility.
Any Nation that performs so much abortion, will ultimately loose so much potential. The wealth of a Nation is determined by the quality of people living there-in. Do something to improve your world.

SUCCESS HABITS
Habits are what we do continuously over a long period of time and therefore it becomes a part of us. Though, we do not decide our destiny directly, we decide on our habit.
Habits determine our character, and our character determines our destiny. We can therefore conclude that good and godly habits birth success. Success comes when you achieve your objectives or set goals. But for a Christian success is the achievement of God set goals for our lives.
Success goes beyond material acquisition. If you must perform better in life you need to consistently upgrade yourself, let your habits be consistent with your destiny.
Destiny is from the word destination. Many are too bothered about their destiny while they ignore habits, it’s so easy to get to your destination but what sustains you is habit.
It’s your thought that forms your words, and your words determine your actions, your actions determine your habits and your habits finally become your character. Your character either makes you or destroys you.
If you don’t make conscious efforts to change your old or bad habits, cultivating new ones would be difficult. How do you cultivate a new habit?
MEDITATION:
Meditation gives birth to revelation. Meditation is been able to think deeply and reflect . It means to be thoughtful of something, to roll things over in thought. If you are too busy to think you are too busy to succeed.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsibility comes from the two words ‘’response’’ and ‘’ability’’ which means ability to respond. You have to take 100% responsibility of your life. Responsibility is the key to true freedom.
SELF IMPROVEMENT:
Self improvement is adding value to your life. And one of the major ways to self improvement is reading.
Through reading you can access the mind of great men. Whatever your profession is or heights you get to in life, there’s always something more you do not know. You need to keep improving yourself to stay relevant. Once you stop learning, you start dying.
POSITIVE TALK:
What do you say about yourself? Your life will move in the direction of your confessions. What forms your confessions is determined by what you eat. What you watch, what you listen to, what you read etc. All of these form the content of your dominant thoughts which then translates to your speech. So ask yourself “What am I eating” because Input invariably corresponds to output. Practice selective viewing and listening so that you can control what you say because your world is controlled by your words.
ACTION ORIENTED:
You must be action oriented. God designed the world such that nothing moves until you move. You don’t get rewarded for what you are planning to do; you only get rewarded for what you have done. Be somebody who always carries out his action. Action delay is destiny delay.
PERSISTENCE:
Develop an attitude of not giving up until you get your desired result. When you persist you soon reach a gush out.
PRAYER:
Prayer is one of the essential keys to success.
Success rates in life largely depend on what you do. Bad habits are easy to form but hard to live by, good habits are hard to form but easy to live by. Be consistent on your newly formed good habits over the old or bad ones because good habits will promote your success rate.
‘’Human beings are creatures of habits.’’

VISION RULES THE WORLD
We are in the world where people mistake purpose and mission for vision, break the scripture with our culture, and turn journeys into destinations.
Permit me to say that it is only human beings that have visions which can speak the things that be not as though they were. Check out the likes of Martin Luther king, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Bishop David Oyedepo (Covenant University), Fela Durotoye… what all these people have in common is that, vision took them there before they were there physically, they lived in the reality of their vision before it became their vicinity.
It is only vision that permits you to live the future while still in the present. To a man without a vision, the past determines his present; but the man carrying a vision sees the end from the beginning. A man with vision doesn’t have need for a seer. God wants you to have sight, but never live by your sight. Live by insight which the word of God provides.
A life without a vision is a life without a mission (assignment), and a life without mission is life that’s set out for confusion and frustration in the presence of opposition. Vision is the source and hope of life, your hope comes from your vision. Vision is the source of confidence. The greatest gift ever given to mankind is not the gift of sight, but the gift of vision. The moment you stop seeing the future on the inside, you start dying on the outside.
I have discovered that life is measured per second not per year; but the quality of life is measure per thought, not per second. You are a product of your thoughts. Sight is a function of the eyes, but vision is a function of the heart. Don’t trust your eyes but trust your heart. Remember this, ‘’eyes that look are common, but eyes that see are rare’’.
There’s nothing noble or noteworthy on earth that is not a product of vision. African nations are suffering at large because we are not aligned with the present age and dispensation; Africa is the poorest continent, not because we lack natural resources, but because we lack supernatural resources and a deep understanding of what’s essential for national growth. There’s an American dream, where is the Nigerian dream? The reason for New York was because there was Old York; vision is what gave birth to New York. Your present is a reflection of your past, but your future is the end-product of your present.
African countries will maintain their present status quo until they stop breaking basic principles that govern success. Anytime a country or a man stops leaving on vision, he starts living under depression. The change in Lagos state, Nigeria is as a result of vision not ambition. Let me make this clear that there is a difference between a leader and a politician. One leads whiles the other rules. Leadership deals with vision, rulership deals with ambition. Vision is what makes a leader, the vision of a leader is what informs or bring about transformation. Vision gives birth to inventions that transform lives.
It was the vision of a desk-sized computer that inspired Steve Jobs to invent the desktop computer, it was the vision of light that possessed Thomas Edison to invent the light bulb, it was the vision of flight that motivated the Wright brothers to invent the airplane; and it was the vision of Bill gate that birth the most influential software company in the world, Microsoft.
What you don’t know will affect your economic future. It is not what we get that makes us valuable, it is what we become. There’s a huge difference between becoming anything and becoming something. People who strive to become anything end up becoming nothing. Becoming anything is a function of sight, but becoming something is a function of vision.
Vision births ideas, and ideas birth value, and value is what is transformed to wealth. You can sell an idea, but you can’t sell a vision. They say ‘’what is worth living for is worth dying for’’, but the only thing that worth living for without the requirement of death is vision. Your vision preserves you. Even in the midst of the most turbulent storm, your vision is what presents you life and replace the fear of dying with the courage of living. If you can see it, believe me, you can live for it. “Before you can get there, you must see there.”
It is vision that keeps the earth rotating, it is what makes plants grow, and it is what also sustains reproduction. Our home needs vision, our family needs vision, and our churches need vision. You need vision!
Our nation today is in desperate need of vision. The challenge of our nation demands men and women who will see beyond the endured present into a preferred future, people with the skill to transform vision into reality, and with the courage to inspire others to do the same.
I am yet to see a nation that will survive without a vision. Any individual that tries to acquire wealth or success by ambition is clearly heading for destruction. The wise King of Israel, King Solomon affirmed in the book of proverbs that “where there is no vision, the people perish.” (Prov. 29:18) Where there’s no revelation of the future, people tend to live in darkness. And to churches or ministries existing without vision, very soon people will start leaving to another parish. When a parish doesn’t have a vision, it will perish.
Every individual is designed to make a difference in their generation; you are born to lead, to achieve something great. But your vision awaits your action. Live by insight(hincyt), not by outsight. Let the unseen in you propel you to see beyond the seen and put you on the scene. If you can picture it, then you can print it out. The future you cannot picture, you cannot feature. And the moment you stop seeing the future, you start dying in the present.
This book is designed to challenge you to live a vision-driving life, to discover and redefine, and to understand the power of vision. It will help you to see beyond what you are called to do. You cannot be better or greater than your vision. Believe in your vision, and act on it. Your greatest asset lies within you, but your greatest adversary lies around you; your best days are not ahead of you but right inside your vision, they lie within you. Challenge yourself, get inspired so that you won’t expire, get informed so that you won’t be deformed. Your vision is more real than your present realities. Don’t trust your eyes.
